Spanish American War Veteran Button
Item #: AA1690
This is a Spanish American War Veteran's button from the early 1900's. The two piece coat sized button is in good condition. The majority of the gilt remains on the button, showing some wear on the high points only. The button has a lined background, with a cross overlaid on it. On each arm of the cross a country is named. At the top it reads CUBA, right side PHILIPINE, bottom U.S.A. and left side PORTO RICO. In the center of the cross is a circle, within the circle are three individuals and a ship in the background. Around the rim of the circle it reads "SPANISH WAR VETERANS 1898 - 02". The button is back marked PETTIBONE MF'G CO. CINCINNATI. The shank is present and straight as an arrow. This will add a little touch of color to your Spanish American War collection!
