Four Piece Relic Set Recovered from ft Reno, Indian Territory, Oklahoma

This is an excavated 4 piece relic set recovered from Fort Reno, Oklahoma. These items were recovered by a long time Indian territory relic hunter who recently passed away. The relics were recovered on private property with the land owners permission. The relics are mounted on a wooden plaque that measures 5 1/4" by 3 3/8". The four dug relics are epoxied to the plaque for display and include a .45-70 rifle cartridge case, a .41 caliber pistol bullet, a .50 caliber carbine bullet, and an adjustable clothing buckle. Fort Reno was established permanently on 15 July, 1874 and was home to the famous Ninth Cavalry, known as the Buffalo Soldiers. During World War II the fort housed Italian and German POW's. The fort remained active until 1949. These recovered relics are from the 1870's to 1880's time period.
