Fifteen Celluloid Pinbacks of US Navy Ships from the Spanish American War

This is a riker case with fifteen US Navy ships from the Spanish American War 1890's. The buttons depict many of the battleships, cruisers, gunboats and monitors from that war, all under full steam. The words US BATTLESHIP, US CRUISER, US TORPEDO BOAT and THE WHITE SUADRON are in an arc above certain ships and the names of the respective ships at the bottom. The battleships named are the Iowa, Oregon and Texas. The cruisers depicted are the Columbia, Charleston, Minneapolis, Chicago, San Francisco and the Baltimore. The gunboats are the Concord and Petrel. The monitor Miantonomah, the torpedo boat Cushing is represented twice, and the auxiliary ship Yorktown make up the fifteen ships represented. The buttons are two different sizes, five are 1 1/4" across and the other ten are 7/8" across. Thirteen of the buttons are made by Whitehead & Hoag of Newark, New Jersey, two of the buttons are missing the paper back mark. The colors on the buttons are still very vibrant, with no chips or degradation. All fifteen or pinbacks are in very good condition and will go a long way in brightening up your Span Am/Philippine collection.
