Verbal history of being a Civil War flag. This one is much smaller than any regulation size guidons I can find. It measures 12" long and 7" tall and has the swallow tail design. The body of the flag is red, normally associated with artillery. In the center is a diamond shaped emblem 1 5/8" square, currently the insignia of the finance corps. To further complicate things the emblem is in cavalry colors, red over white. I can find no information or any examples that show this particular flag. There are holes in each tail and several moth holes in the center of the flag. The fly has some damage at the top and bottom, but overall it still has some appeal. If you know what this particular unit this represents I'd love to hear from you!
