This is a group of fourteen assorted flat buttons from the 1830's to 1890's. There are nine coat size buttons and five cuff or vest size buttons. The majority of the buttons are flat buttons from the 1830's - 1840's with floral designs, but there are a couple of school buttons that are post Civil War. The majority of the shanks are either bent or broken off, but three have straight standing shanks. Some of the buttons have clear back marks, a couple having LONDON back marks. Others are either illegible or do not have a back mark. I have no history of where these came from except various parts of Virginia.
