This is a leather holster made in the early 1900's. This one is made after the Mexican style double loop holster, and was a favorite of cowboys, gun hands and greenhorns alike. It's popularity was due to the fact that it held up under the rigorous conditions of the old west. This one measures 10 1/2" at the longest point and 6" at the widest point. It can accommodate a belt width of 4". There are no rivets used in the construction of the holster, everything is stitched together. All stitching remains strong and unbroken. There is a simple, but well executed hand tooled design on the straps and body of the holster. Stamped into the leather on the back of the holster is the makers name, W.H. RICHARDSON/MAKER/MALTA MONT, along with the scratched initials of JB. This one will fit any revolver with a barrel length of 5 1/2" or less. This one displays well, or can still be used with your Cowboy or Western impression.
