This is an imported toy Civil War Confederate color bearer. The small figure is 4 1/4" tall including the wooden base. The plastic figure is hand painted and depicts a regimental color bearer with his flag. He wears a gray jacket and sky blue trousers. Over the uniform he has a cartridge box, bed roll, haversack and canteen. The bearded figure tops it off with a kepi. The standard Confederate battle flag has thirteen stars, this one seems to have a few extra! I believe this piece was made in Germany, mostly because of the label, "SUDISTE". Cool little piece that you can give to little Johnny to get him interested in history!
