This is a pewter figurine from the Franklin Mint from their "American Military Sculpture" collection dated 1979. The pewter figure of a United States Marine World War I Private is 2 1/2" tall and does not come with a base. The figure shows great detail, with the Private standing, looking out over the battlefield. He is standing with his feet slightly spread apart. He holds his M1917 Enfield rifle at the ready. He wears a M1917 wool uniform complete with leggings. His M1910 dismounted cartridge belt is outfitted with a M1910 first aid pouch and M1910 canteen. He wears a M1917 helmet complete with a tiny EGA. This figure was part of a 98 piece set offered by the Franklin Mint from 1977 - 1982. It would make a great desk ornament or a decorator piece in your war room, perhaps the perfect birthday or Christmas gift!
