This is a framed United Confederate Veterans Reunion parade flag from the 1931 reunion held in Montgomery, Alabama. The flag itself measures 16 1/2" wide and 11 1/2" high. The colors on this parade flag are still bright and really catch your eye. There is no damage or stains anywhere on the flag. The stars are printed on the flag, nothing is sewn on. In the upper red quadrant of the flag the letters UCV are painted in gold. In the bottom quadrant the date of 1931 is also painted in gold. Montgomery hosted the 41st National UCV reunion during June 2 - 5, 1931. The convention opened June 2nd with an estimated 25,000 in attendance. Notable persons in attendance for the commencement of the reunion included General L.W. Stevens, Commander in Chief of the UCV, Alabama Governor B.M. Miller, Montgomery Mayor W.A. Gunter to name a few! A parade followed, when this flag was flown along the parade route. The simple antique wooden shadow box frame displays well with the flag. It measures 22 1/4" wide by 20" high. A simple beige woven mat really makes the flag stand out. Framed and ready to hang, this will really put a splash of color in your war room!
