This is a Grand Army of the Republic ribbon for the Department of Tennessee veterans. The white cotton ribbon measures 2 3/4" wide and 9" long. On the front of the ribbon is a depiction of a monument very similar to the Wilder Monument at the Chickamauga National Park, printed in blue ink. Below the monument in red ink is a rectangular box with the following printed in red, "Seventeenth Encampment, Department of Tennessee, Grand Army of the Republic Elizabethton, may 16, 1900". The ribbon is in very good condition, the colors vibrant and the printing very clear. A fringing effect has been achieved by leaving the top and bottom of the ribbon unsewn. On the back of the ribbon the following is written in ink, "C.M.186.16". I don't know if that is an inventory number or what. This is a pretty scarce GAR ribbon to come, especially in this good condition.
