WWII Holster for Colt 1911A1

This is a World War II leather holster made for the Colt Model 1911A1. This russet leather holster is in unissued condition. It was manufactured by the Milwaukee Saddlery Co. and is dated 1942. All stitching, rivets and closure stud are extremely tight and secure to the holster. The eyelet at the toe of the holster has a leather "tie down" that came with the holster. The brass rivets, eyelet and closure stud all have some verdigris showing. The bail that is used to attach the holster to a web belt shows no wear. The flap is embossed with a US within an oval. The interior of the holster shows no wear at all. The only drawback is that while in storage something was spilled on it and created three stained areas. I don't know if saddle soap would help with the stains or not. It's still a great example of WWII American equipage that's nearly as iconic as the pistol it carried!
