46 Star "Oklahoma" US Flag

This is a United States 46 star flag of unknown origin. The 46 star flag was utilized from 4 July 1908, when Oklahoma was admitted to the Union, until 4 July 1912. This flag measures 48" by 88". The canton and stripes are made of wool bunting while the stars are made of cotton muslin. The stars are machine sewn onto both sides of the canton. The layout of the stars is 8-7-8-8-7. The orientation of the star points is straight up. The canvas hoist has no grommets, instead it has two metal rings connected by a length of hemp sewn tightly into the hoist. The size of this flag suggests it may have been used as a storm flag during inclement weather and was flown from a flag pole. There are no repairs showing on the flag, just a couple of spots where the stitching has been reinforced. The top stripe at the fly is frayed and has broken stitching. There are several holes throughout the flag but nothing major. For a piece of material that was used outdoors, probably in all types of weather this one is still in good condition. Especially when you consider it's at least 110 years old. If your war room or man cave has the wall space, this thing will definitely put some pop in there!
