Stoneware crock from northwestern North Carolina, circa 1860 - 1880. This jar was purchased in East Tennessee from a family estate sale. The jar was reported to have been brought from the Maggie Valley area of North Carolina in the early 1900's to Tennessee when the family relocated to Greene county Tennessee. The crock measures 6 1/4" tall, 6 3/8"" across the opening and 6" across the bottom. The jar has a greenish brown color and has a clear glaze. The are no cracks, chips or other damage.
