This is a Florentine "Nettuno" powder flask from the 1800's. It measures 4 3/4" tall, 2 3/4" wide at the base and 1 1/4" at the neck. The flask holds 8 to 9 ounces of powder. The spout is 2 1/2" long. This little brass flask has an very ornate scene, depicting Neptune standing on a shell with his Trident in his right hand. He is surrounded by a very ornate floral scene. The brass has turned a dark almost bronze patina, with the higher points of the flask having a bright gold color. The powder measure is still in good working order. Not sure what the charge is set up for one this one. I believe that this one is for a pistol. If you collect 19th century firearms this would look along them!
