late 1800's horse hair coat from the American west. Quite large, this one is approximately a size 44 that measures 48" in length. The maker label is missing, making it impossible to arrive at a specific manufacture date. The quilted lining is in excellent condition, with a small amount of fraying around the collar hem. There are tow small soft leather pads at the sleeve openings. The coat has two outside and one inside pocket. The eight frog style button fasteners are firmly attached. This one came out of a large Denver Colorado collector last year at a Cowan's auction. An outstanding iconic piece of 1800's American western trail gear, this one could still be worn today!
