Model 1851 Navy Colt cap and ball revolver. The 7 1/2" barrel has a single line New York address. Serial number 108474 puts the production year in 1861. All serial numbers match to include the wedge. The beautiful walnut grips retain 90% of the original varnish. Though there be a bump and a nick or two, they still fit tight and look gorgeous! The cylinder scene is still visible, but is pretty light. The silverwash is gone from the trigger guard and back strap except for a couple of spots. The brass has turned a bright golden color, very eye pleasing. This Colt comes with a letter of authentication from Colt. It states that the weapon, along with nine others, was shipped to W. Read & Son in Boston, Massachusetts on 7 August, 1861. Great looking Colt Navy that started out in the North, but possibly ended up the war in Southern hands. Either way, if you collect Colts, this is one you shouldn't let slip away.
