World War II M1 helmet with liner. The helmet is a front seam type with swivel bales. The exterior of the helmet has been textured with cork and painted a dark green. The majority of the texturing is gone and the helmet has a lot of bare metal showing, having turned a blackish color. The stainless steel rim has about 50% of the paint remaining. The chin straps are missing from the helmet. The liner is of late war production. It has the OD7 suspension webbing. At some point it has been painted a bright yellow. Again, about 50% of that color remains on the liner. The chin strap for the liner is also missing. It does have the web yokes and snaps for a jump chin strap. There is a crack in the front of the liner about 1 inch long. There are also 4 1/8" holes drilled in the liner. Two are on the top and one each beside the snaps on each side. If this one could only talk.
