1/6 Plate Ambrotype of a Union soldier. This image is of a stalwart young infantryman in a studio setting. He is wearing a nine button sack coat, kepi, waist belt with US belt plate, cap box and cartridge box with US plate and bayonet scabbard. The buttons of the coat and kepi as well as the US lettering on the belt plate and cartridge box plate have been colored by the photographer. I believe he is holding a Model 1842 musket. The leatherette case is missing the front cover. Another very clear image of an American soldier prepared for battle. If you have an image collection this one would fit in nicely.
