Civil War Era Sword Knot

Civil War era officers gold bullion sword knot. The overall length is 17", with the width of the knot being 1 1/2". There is some wear showing at the top of the knot along with a separation of three pieces of the bullion at the knot. An example of this particular one is shown in Stuart Mowbray's book "American Swords" on plate 31e, displayed on an 1852 Naval Officers sword.
