Reproduction Civil War Army Campaign Medal

This is a full size Civil War Army Campaign medal. It was first authorized 1905 to recognize those members of the United States Armed Forces who served during the American Civil War between 1861 and 1865. The Army Civil War Campaign Medal was established by the War Department on 21 January, by General Order Number 12. Originally intended for members who served between 15 April, 1861 and 9 April, 1865, qualification was extended to 20 August, 1866. The ribbon is blue and gray to represent the colors of the Union and Confederate armies. The medallion has a bust of Abraham Lincoln on the front, surrounded by the inscription reads "WITH MALICE TOWARD NONE WITH CHARITY FOR ALL". The reverse is stamped "THE CIVIL WAR 1861-1865" surrounded by a laurel wreath. These campaign medals were produced by the government as well as private agencies. The government produced campaign medals are numbered, the private purchase ones were not. This medal is in good condition, with no damage to the ribbon or medallion.
