This is a book and 33rpm vinyl album combination titled The Confederacy Music of the North 1861-1865 played by the National Gallery Orchestra, conducted by Richard Bales and produced by Goddard Lieberson. The album was recorded by Columbia Records in 1958, just prior to the centennial of the Civil War. The album comes in a sleeve at the back of the book. Songs included on the album are: side one, General Lee's Grand March, All Quiet Along the Potomac Tonight, The Bonnie Blue Flag, Lorena, and The Yellow Rose of Texas. Side two features Somebody's Darling, We All Went Down to New Orleans for Bales, General Robert E Lee's Farewell Order to The Army of Northern Virginia, The Conquered Banner, Dixie's Land and several more. The book is 60 pages with some amazing pen and ink drawings, along with period photographs. This would be a great piece to keep in the shop, but I don't have a turntable!
