The Auxiliary to the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War was organized in 1883 and endorsed by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War in 1884. This is a badge from the 50th National Convention of the Auxiliary to the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. This convention was held in Washington, D.C. from 20-24 September, 1936. The badge is 4 5/16 tall, with the header being 1 1/2"" wide. The header depicts the Lincoln Memorial in the center with the wording LINCOLN MEMORIAL across the top and WASHINGTON D.C. along the bottom. The yellow ribbon with silver lettering is in very good condition and still has vibrant colors. The medallion suspended from the header is the symbol of the Auxiliary to the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. This is an excellent example of an Auxiliary to Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War National convention badge from the early 1900's, and will go well with any GAR or Auxiliary collection.
