This is a reproduction US Model 1907 leather sling that was used by US forces during World War I and World War II. This model sling was originally used with the Model 1903 Springfield rifle during WWI. It proved to be so popular that it carried over into WWII and saw service with the M1 Garand rifle. The sling is different from all other slings because of it's two piece construction. The short section measures 23" in length, the long section is 47 1/2" in length. Both sections are 1 1/4" wide and have 14 and 28 sets of adjustment holes respectively. This arrangement allows for an almost endless possibilities of adjustment for the user. The sling is equipped with two brass hooks like the ones used during WWI, and two leather keepers. There is some simple floral tool work in the center of the leather and no makers stamps or dates. This sling is correct for the WWI reenactor equipped with the 1903 rifle, and will provide good service for many years!
