Civil War Period Color Bearer Flag Sling

This is a US color bearer's flag sling from the Civil War period. The single strap flag carrier is made of black bridle leather that measure 1 11/16" wide. The sling is adjustable by use of a roller buckle. The leather cup that supports the flag is made of the same thick bridle leather. It is attached to the sling by use of six iron rivets. The leather is still pretty pliable, shows extensive wear from use but is not heavily crazed or otherwise damaged. The wear and tear on the sling is consistent overall, but is still very strong. This one has that been there done that look to it. If you have a Civil War collection this would make a nice addition.
