This is a clip point single edged side knife made by F. P. Perez circa 1940's. The knife measures 12" overall, with a 7 1/2" blade. The obverse side of the blade is etched with cactus in a desert landscape, with a man walking from one side towards the other. In the distance is a snow covered mountain. Etched between the left cactus and the mountain is "PERRO QUE LADRA NO MUERDE", which translates to "barking dog does not bite". The reverse side of the blade is etched with the word "MEXICO" with embellishments around the word. Stamped near the cross guard on the blade is PEREZ'S/MADE IN/MEXICO. The crossguard is made of aluminum and is integral with the handle and eagles head pommel. The handle is inlaid with steer horn. The blade has a 3/16" spine, making it pretty sturdy for it's length. The blade is in good condition with small spots of oxidation. There is some old clear tap along the edge that gives it a rusted appearance. Once that's cleaned off I think the blade will polish up nice. The handle has a few small spots of insect damage. The eagle head pommel is etched to show some feather work and eyes. The beak has a hole through it to for a lanyard. There is no scabbard with this knife.
