Civil War Period Waist Belt with Brass Frame Buckle

This is a non regulation waist belt with a large brass frame buckle. The belt length is 41" and is 2 3/4" wide. The leather shows honest wear but is still very supple. There is very little loss of the dyed black, mainly the area in the center of the frame buckle and along the edge on one side. There are no cracks, rips, tears or weak spots anywhere on the belt. There are no makers stamps or inspector's stamps visible on the belt. The belt plate has been on this piece of leather for a long time. The large frame buckle is in very good condition. It measures 3 1/2" tall and 2 3/4" wide. It has an overall matching dark chocolate patina on the front and back side. There is no documentation from the family stating that it was worn by their Confederate relative, but it sure looks rebel to me! I can just see this one with a big ol' bowie hanging off of it!
