This is an illustrated page from the book "The Soldier in Our Civil War". The book was originally published in 1884 as a tribute to the soldiers and sailors of both sides of the war. The illustration is from page 32 of Volume 1 and is in good condition. It measures 16 1/2" wide and is 11 1/2" tall. The illustration from an original 1884 printed book is mounted on a piece of cardboard and is protected by a plastic sleeve. This one page from the book looks just the way it did when it was printed 139 years ago. There are no smudges, stains, rips, tears, creases or folds on the page. The black and white illustration shows Union soldiers and equipment at a dock waiting to board ships and is entitled "MOVEMNT OF TROOPS AND MUNITIONS OF WAR - COLLINS LINE DOCK, CANAL STREET, NEW YORK - OUTSIDE VIEW". If you collect Civil War documents and drawings this piece will fit right in!
