This is a cloth and leather waist belt used by the Japanese during World War II. This one looks to be unissued, or at least in very lightly used condition. The belt measures 30 1/2" in overall length and is 3" wide. A nickel plated single pin roller buckle is sewn on one side and a single row adjustable strap measuring 7 1/2" in length and 1 3/8" wide is sewn on opposite the buckle. The web belt ends are reinforced with a leather strip to prevent fraying and unraveling. There is one metal support loop sewn onto the back side of the belt by use of a leather thing. There is no frog sewn on to suspend a sword from, and it doesn't look like there ever was. I believe this s what is referred to as a physical training belt, worn by officers and NCO's. It is in excellent condition and will display well with your other WWII Japanese artifacts.
