Civil War Period Pistol Cartridge Box

This is a pistol cartridge box from the Civil War era. This box is in good, used condition. There is some moderate crazing on the flap of the cartridge box, but no leather loss. This cartridge box measures approximately 5" wide and 3 3/4" high. The outer flap of the box is stamped with a US, but no makers mark. The closure tab is not torn and is securely attached to the box, and fits over the brass finial like a glove. The two belt loops are securely attached to the rear of the box. This is an excellent representative piece for a Civil War pistol cartridge box that will enhance any collection.
