This is a Confederate States Army veteran's grave marker made by an unidentified company. These markers had a two fold purpose, to identify a grave of a Confederate soldier from the Civil War, and also to hold a small flag on Decoration Day. Later on that day would be called Memorial Day. This CSA marker is made of wrought iron and has a newer coat of silver paint applied to it. The front of the marker is made like a five point star. In the center of the star are the letters C.S.A./VETERAN and the dates 1861-65. There are two stars on three arms of the star, and six stars arc from the bottom left to the bottom right of the star. The back of the marker is blank, and the flag holder/upright is broken off. These display well with your UCV items.
