This is a German Luftwaffe single cell K98 ammo pouch from World War II. The brown leather pouch is in very good condition for it's age. The stitching is strong throughout the box. The leather is brown, that would indicate it was issued to a Luftwaffe unit versus an Army unit that sued the black ones. The belt loop is attached to the back of the box by stitching and brass rivets. It loops under the box and attaches to the bottom final, indicating an early design. A closure strap is brass riveted to the front of the pouch cover and loops under the box to connect to the brass finial. The inner divider is still present, also secured by brass rivets. This pouch holds two five round stripper clips of 8mm ammunition, for a total of 10 rounds. This pouch is not maker marked, very unusual for a piece of German gear. It is possible this is a theater made pouch, made at an airfield somewhere. This would make a perfect starter piece for the beginning WWII German collector out there.
