This is a 12 page United Daughters of the Confederacy Catechism for children printed in 1912. This was arranged for Veuve Jefferson Davis Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy in Galveston, Texas by Cornelia Branch Stone. It was intended to teach children about the Confederate Lost Cause by means of a question and answer format that was meant to be memorized. The small booklet is in very good condition. Along with the catechism are two postal envelopes embossed with information 75 years earlier, in 1862. One concerns the Battle of Iuka in Mississippi and the other Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. Both envelopes cancellation marks over the stamps and post marked in September, 1937. They display well in an 8 x 12 riker case.
