This is a German M35 helmet painted in flat black. Stampings on the inner rim of the helmet are still crisp and legible. This one is stamped SE62 on the left side and in the rear 9896. The SE represents the Sachsische Emailler and Stanzewerke, Lauter Germany. The number 62 is the shell size. The number 9896 is the production number of that particular lot. The helmet no longer has a liner. The helmet has no have decals, nor can you see any evidence of them being there. This helmet has been repainted in a flat black color. This color was used by Luftwaffe flak crews. This one is a no frills, bare bones WWII German helmet survivor. It will make a great starter piece for the beginning WWII collector in the family.
