Early 1900's Kansas Christian Endeavor Convention Badges & Ribbons

This is a small group of convention badges and ribbons of the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor from the state of Kansas that were held in the early 1900's. The group consists of two ribbons, five metal badges and a pocket watch fob with the Christian Endeavor logo. The dates on the badges and ribbons range from 1909 through 1930. The badges retain all the original paint and are in very good condition. The ribbons are still bright yellow and are not frayed or torn. The largest ribbon represents the seventh district and is for the 24th annual convention held in Lebo, Kansas June 18 and 19, 1913. The smaller ribbon is in the shape of a sunflower and is from the 42nd annual state convention held in Emporia, Kansas June 2 and 3, 1930. The badges that are marked with convention information are from Wichita, Kansas July 14 - 16, 1909 and the state convention held in Wichita June 13 - 15, 1916. One of the badges is marked TOPEKA LOCAL UNION in a circular border around the Christian Endeavor logo of the letter C with a smaller letter E inside the letter C. The other marked badge reads KANSAS C.E. UNION TOPEKA, JUNE 14-16, 1910. The remaining badges is about the size of a dime has simply has the CE logo on the front of the badge, likely worn on a lapel of a jacket. The Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor was founded in 1881 by Francis Edward Clark in Portland, Maine. Reverend Clark started the first national church youth organization on 2 February, 1881. The society was formed to "bring youth to accept Christ and work for him". The organization created publications for youth, devised youth programs and sponsored events.
