This is an eight pocket leather ammunition belt from the early 1900's. The belt is made of russet brown leather and measures 36" long and 2 1/4" wide. The belt is machine stitched with heavy duty white thread, all stitching is strong and unbroken. The adjustable belt has a black buckle very much like a roller buckle, minus the roller. The cartridge pouches are secured by brass snaps, all of which work. The size of the pockets and lack of any makers marks or inspector stamps leads me to believe this is a civilian or possibly law enforcement used belt. The belt would be able to carry pistol ammunition, no rifle or shotgun cartridges. It has seen some use, but is still solid and could be used today.
