Civil War Period Civilian Wool Blanket

This is a civilian wool blanket for the Civil War period. It is made of undyed Kersey weave wool and is made of one single panel. The edges of the blanket are hand stitched, and a good portion of the stitching is broken and missing. This one measures 62 1/2" x 77". There are a few holes in this one, the pictures show them well. The letters MS have been stenciled 3" high on one side of the blanket. I am not sure when these were added. Even if they are post war, the blanket itself is Civil War period. While this blanket does have a couple of condition issues, it remains in very solid condition and will make a very nice addition to any Civil War soldier display.
