15th Annual Reunion Ribbon 110th OVI August 7th, 1884

This is a Grand Army of the Republic reunion ribbon from the 15th annual reunion of the 110th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment held in New Carlisle, Ohio on 7 August, 1884. The ribbon is white with dark blue lettering. It reads FIFTEENTH ANNUAL RE-UNION of GEN. J. WARREN KEIFER"S 110th Regt., O.V.I. above a blue 6th Corps badge and New Carlisle, Ohio, Aug. 7th, 1884 below. The header is missing from the ribbon, but the ribbon itself still displays well. The 110th OVI was a three year regiment that was formed in Piqua, Ohio and mustered into service on 3 October, 1862. It was assigned to different Corps throughout the three years, but was assigned to the Third Division, VI Corps near the end of the war. The unit fought in the following engagements; Second battle of Winchester, New York Draft Riots, Bristoe Campaign, Mine Run Campaign, Battle of the Wilderness, Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, Battle of Cold Harbor, Battle of Monocacy, Shenandoah Valley Campaign, Third Battle of Winchester, Battle of Cedar Creek and the Siege of Petersburg. The lost a total of 230 men during the war, killed or died form disease. If you have an Ohio GAR collectin, this will make a very nice addition.
