This is a flap holster for the Smith & Wesson #1 or similar revolver with a 3" barrel. The leather is still soft and supple with no damage at all. The original stitching is still strong and unbroken. The flap is secured closed with a slot and button configuration. The button on this little holster just happens to be a Civil War period US Marine Corps button with a Scovill back mark! There is no plug in the toe of the holster, it is stitched shut. The belt loop on the back is securely sewn onto the body of the holster. There are no cartouche or makers mark visible. The leather shows very little crazing, but has almost no finish loss. This little flap holster has seen it's fair share of service, but it still displays well. It is configured for a left handed user. It would compliment any collection!
