This is a non excavated two piece coat size flower button from the 1839 - 1849 period. The button is back marked LEAVENWORTH & CO/EXTRA. The button is in very good condition. It has a very elaborate flower design on a stippled background. The button measures 20 mm and retains over 90% of the gilt. The shank is present and standing tall. Leavenworth can be traced back to 1811 in Waterbury, Connecticut. This button will make a great start for any collection.
