This is a non excavated one piece coat size flower buttons from the 1840 - 1850 period. The button is back marked SCOVILLS/WATERBURY. The button is in very good condition. It has a very elaborate flower design on a stippled background. The button measures 21 mm and retains over 90% of the gilt. The shank is present and standing tall. Scovill can be traced back to 1802 in Waterbury, Connecticut. This button will make a great start for any collection.
