Pre Civil War Flower Button 1835-1840

This is a non excavated two piece coat size flower buttons from the 1835-1840 period. The button is back marked W.H. JONES & CO/SUPERFINE. The button is in very good condition. It has a six point star design with a stippled background. The button measures 21.5 mm and retains over 90% of the gilt. The shank is present and standing tall. The William H. Jones company can be traced back to 1835 in Waterbury, Connecticut. This button will make a great start for any collection.
