Union Naval Button

This is a non excavated Union Navy coat button from the Civil War period. The button is of a two piece design, is back marked EXTRA QUALITY and measures 22 mm. The majority of the gilt is worn off the button, remaining in the recessed areas only. The button has a light chocolate patina and displays well. The shank is still reporting for duty and is standing straight and tall. This is a nice piece to complete your button collection.
