WWII US .30 Caliber M1 Ammunition Can

This is an ammunition can for 250 rounds of .30 caliber ammo used with the M1917 or M1919 machine guns used during World War II. The can measures 10 1/4" wide, 3 1/2" deep and 7" tall. This ammo can is stamped CAL. .30 M1/AMMUNITION BOX on both sides of the can. The hinged end of the can is embossed with the Ordnance bomb and the letter U. on one side and S. on the other. Above the Ordnance stamp is the maker, REEVES. The rubber gasket in the lid is still present and not torn. There is not much surface rust present, and the ammo can is still very serviceable. There are no stencils left on the ammo can. This would really look good in your vehicle mounted .30 caliber M1919 display, or a tripod mounted M1917!
