Civil War Period Boots

This is a pair of Civil war era boots. These boots were originally authorized in 1851 for Artillery drivers only. During the American Civil War the US government issued this style of boot to the Cavalry as well as Artillery drivers. This style of boot remained the only authorized Cavalry boot until 1872, when the style was changed during the Indian Wars. These boots are made of quality leather that remains very supple with no crazing. There is the normal creasing from age and wear. The heels and soles show wear, but are complete and intact. Neither boot has any damage, holes or any other detractors. The boots are 16" tall from the heel to the back of the boot. They are 11 3/4" in length and have 1" stacked heels. These boots are in fantastic condition and will display great with your Civil War display.
