Civil War Era Four Pull Telescope

This is a four pull pocket telescope from the Civil War era. It measures 9 1/2" collapsed and an extended length of 29 1/2". The leather cover over the body of the telescope shows some honest wear and has a couple of spots where the black outer layer has flaked off. The stitching has separated about half way, but the leather is still tight against the brass tube. The brass on the telescope has not been cleaned and presents an eye pleasing dull golden patina. The optics on this one are still clear. There is no protective slide cover for the eye piece, and no protective cap for the objective lense. These type of telescopes were used by Officers and Engineers throughout the war. This one would look great in a Cavalry display, an Engineer or Officers grouping.
