This is a two piece US Army General Service button from the late 1800's period. There is no back mark on the button. The two piece domed button is in non dug, relic condition. The majority of the gilt is gone, and the button has taken on a chocolate patina. There is a slight push on the face of the button. This button was not made with a shank, as this type button was retained by a small clip. This is a nice piece for your late Indian Wars or Spanish American War period collection!
