This book was written by Robert Garofalo and Mark Elrod, published in 1985 as a first edition, the narrative is 111 pages and is illustrated with color and black and white photos. The contents of this book include early brass band instruments, Civil War brass instruments, rope tension drums, rudimental drumming, and military bands and bandsmen from 1861 - 1865. There are dozens of Civil War period photographs with soldiers and their various instruments. This is a handy little tool in your reference library. This paper back book is in good condition, but the binding is loose and a couple of the pages have separated from the spine.
