WWII Japanese Patriotic Flag Boxed Set

This is a boxed set of a patriotic Japanese National flag from World War II. The box contains a printed Japanese National flag and a gold painted wooden flag pole finial. The wooden box measures 8 5/16" long, 4" wide and 3 3/4" tall.The lid of the box is cracked from one end to the other, yet remains very stable. On the lid two paper labels have been applied, one showing the flag assembled on a staff, the other all kangi. Unfortunately I can not read what is written, but I did find other examples similar to this one on the internet. Stored inside the box are the flag and finial. The flag measures 28" by 40". This flag is unsigned and has no shrine marks. It is in very good condition with no holes, rips or tears. Two of the corners are reinforced, one of the ties is missing. This is a nice example of a patriotic flag set that was probably brought home by a US serviceman during the occupation of Japan.
