Cold War Era M69 Soviet Union Officer's Field Cap

This is a Soviet Union M69 officer's field cap from the Cold War Era. These caps were worn by Soviet Officers of all arms and services from 1969 to 1988. The cap, by Russian Army regulations, is all khaki colored, as was its predecessor, the M58. This cap was made between 1981 and 1988, as indicated by the single rim hard plastic visor. The chinstrap, buttons and cockade are also plastic. The lining of the cap is a light green colored silk material. Sewn onto the lining is a diamond shaped piece of brown plastic with Russian writing impressed on it. The hat size of 56 is printed on the lining as well, which corresponds to a size 7 by US standards. This cap is in very good condition and would work well in any Cold War Soviet Union display or collection.
