WWII Japanese Type 99 Canteen

This is a World War II Japanese Type 99 canteen. This is a veteran bring back from the Pacific theater. The aluminum flask style canteen has the original brown paint. The stopper and web strap harness with metal buckles is no longer with the canteen. The canteen shows signs of obvious use, having a loss of paint and small dents in a couple of spots. The majority of the original brown paint remains intact. There is kanji on the front of the canteen, scratched into the aluminum body then painted with gold paint. A very legible arsenal stamp is on the bottom of the canteen. This is a good example of a WWII Japanese canteen from the Pacific theater and will compliment any collection!
